Back-Up Generators and Alarms
Our seven modern storage buildings feature radiant in-floor heating, advanced security with alarm monitoring, and backup generators for reliable climate control. We use specialized trucks and hydraulic air-ride trailers for smooth, damage-free transportation, and steel stands for optimal vessel support and protection.
Heated indoor storage offers superior protection and convenience compared to cold shrink wrap. It prevents temperature swings, condensation, and damage to your boat’s components, preserving its longevity. Unlike shrink-wrapped boats, our climate-controlled, well-lit buildings provide easy access for maintenance and peace of mind.
INFORMATION AND QUESTIONS
OUR BOAT STORAGE
Our in-floor radiant heating system is highly efficient, eliminating condensation and moisture by warming the concrete floor and surrounding objects. This keeps your boat dry and ensures comfort for year-round service work. The system uses an oil-fired boiler to heat antifreeze, which circulates for consistent, even heat.
All our buildings are equipped with a 10-kW diesel generator with over 1,000 gallons of fuel, providing automatic backup power during outages. The facilities are also monitored for security and temperature control by a computer system and alarm company.
Our heated indoor storage spans 100,000+ sq. ft. across buildings #1–#7 at our Co. RT 1 and RT 12 locations, designed for vessels 25' and up. This solution eliminates traditional winterization, saving you from removing or winterizing engines, systems, and equipment. Heated storage is often similarly priced to cold storage, offering superior protection and convenience. Note: Maximum height is 28.6 feet.
Our cold storage at Co. RT 1, Building #1, offers a secure, enclosed space for boats 16'–30'. Winterization, including engine and system lay-up, is required, with a detailed checklist provided. This cost-effective option is ideal for less complex vessels. Note: Maximum height is 15 feet.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Boat length is measured from the pulpit tip to the transom platform, or to the tip of the raised outboard motor. Accurate measurements are essential for optimal storage. Our team will measure new boats upon arrival to confirm size. Feel free to call if you have any questions.
If you decide to stay longer in the building after April 15th by choice, you will then begin our Summer Storage.
The Winter Storage contract runs from September 15th to April 15th, with launch dates subject to weather delays. A grace period may be offered at our discretion. Once launched, we will deliver your boat to your dock if local. If you can't take possession at launch, alternative solutions, such as temporary dockage or marina delivery, can be arranged for an additional fee.
